I started this site awhile back to help with my publishing expenses since I am a self-published author.  The Great Gift World is just like Amazon.  The items are useful electronics I selected based on quality and price.  If you know someone who could use an accessory for his or her phone, computer or other household good, then please do stop by the site.  Here's a link: The Great Gift World

I appreciate my customers and hope that you will enjoy the vast amount of products on the site.  This is yet another business I enjoy.  Thanks for taking the time to stop by and please do show your support by visiting the site, thanks! The Great Gift World

Special Thanks from Nicholl McGuire of nichollmcguire.blogspot.com

I just wanted to take this time to say, "Thank you!"  My twitter followers, YouTube subscribers, Hub Pages family, Plurk folks, and others who have passed on my article, blog and video links!  You have helped out so much over the years by showing your online support, thank you, thank you!

Just the other day a link I remember posting that only had less than 10 views a year ago attracted over a thousand clicks, and others like this that started off the same way, increased far more than I ever expected.  It turns out that people online do actually care about others and how they have handled various life experiences, there was a time I doubted this.  Back in those days (1992-93), the Internet (World Wide Web), was nothing more than a landfill of sites that wanted nothing more than to get you to buy something without establishing any kind of relationship with you.  Site after site had paragraphs of text, boring images, and many links.  Back then, you didn't need to subscribe…

What is Making a Difference?

Lately, I have revisited what appears to be a simple question when thinking of my business endeavors, "How is what I do truly making a difference?"

We are so consumed by numbers, performance, dollar signs, marketing strategies, business planning, and how much is coming and going out of ones back account that we oftentimes lose sight of "the difference," whatever that might mean to you in your business or workplace.

So I explored this thought of making a difference and I have reached the following points:

1.  What others view of what you do is "the difference."  So compare that with what your mission statement, objective or view of your business says and make the necessary changes.  Since what you do affects the people, wouldn't it make sense for them to have somewhat of a say so on what you are supposedly doing for them?

2.  Making a difference doesn't come without hard work.  As much as we would like to think we are on the right path, seek the…

Ancestry DNA - Answering Questions You Always Had About Who You Are

One of the best things anyone could do to find out more about their ancestry is to have one's DNA analyzed.  I will admit I never liked a label put on my ethnicity especially when it doesn't explain the breakdown of who I am.

Not that long ago (9-23-2014), I got the answers to questions I had about my family history and as an added bonus--through the DNA test--I was able to discover other relatives online.

I will tell you that parents might want to consider purchasing the kit, if not for yourself, but for your children.  Even though we live in a large world, it is small too.  Nowadays, people are able to connect with half sisters, brothers, cousins etc. online via dating websites very easily.  Just think, one's son or daughter comes up to you one day talking about how compatible he or she is with someone only to find out that they have a white, black or another ethnicity for a cousin.

So do consider taking the time out to get your Ancestry DNA done.  By the way I foun…

The More Things Change, The More They Stay the Same with Me

I will be the first to admit that all things haven't changed in my life, just the characters who play different parts.  I still have a husband, children, and a past.  I still have a present and a future that remains consistent--still reading and writing--love it!

I am still that strong-minded, serious at times, friendly lady people use to know.  Yet, these days I consider myself to be more spiritual than I ever was back in the day.  These days I permit my online and offline work to be my escape from the things that disappoint me.  Having cash in your pocket is better than having none even if your muse isn't always what you wanted it to be.

So I take a moment to just say, "Hello" to those who stop by periodically to see what I am up to.  Thank you for reading.

I Thank My Inspirations for Writing

Every now and then I have to show appreciation to those that have supported me-- those that keep me motivated to write, to them I say, Thank you!  Those that listened to my verbal concerns, rants, flattery, and more--thank you!  Those that read my work and paid for it--special thank you!

In addition to supporters, there are "Inspirations" that move me to pen my thoughts.  From the beatiful artwork that someone has left on a wall for observers to analyze to someone nice I meet while working/shopping in public, these people, places and things are motivations for me.

Despite living in a world that promotes/glorifies/upholds evil, it is up to us as writers, speakers, teachers, parents, and others to bring good!  Wherever we might work and whoever we might talk to, it is our divine job to utilize the light we have to shine on lost souls in dark places.  As a result of our Heavenly Father using us, we should see atmospheres cleaned, rearranged, broken down, and/or built back up…

These days still busily writing, but I will be back to doing it full-time real soon.  I have offered my services in the past to individuals and businesses and will continue to do so.  If you are not familiar with other things I do like: record audio, post on social networking sites, ghost write for blogs, provide administrative service offline, then do check me out here: Nicholl McGuire Media

Small Town Mindset Can Kill Big Dreams

One of the biggest mistakes people from small towns do after being exposed to big city life is to go back home and adapt to the small mindset of locals once again.

After months or even years of broadening one's horizons, far too many individuals relocate back home and accept ignorance.  From negative comments about big cities, lifestyles, and cultures (that most small minds have never encountered personally) to what they think they know about a neighborhood because they "read somewhere...heard about...my cousin use to live there..." so this makes someone knowledgeable?  How about living and staying in the big city rather than running into the arms of worry and fear?  What about walking the streets, riding the buses, attending events, and lending your service to that new community rather than finding solace in the ever-popular statement, "I just want to be close to family..."?  Aren't those the people you needed to get away from in the first place in an e…

They Say, "I Need Someone to Write My Book"

For years, I have offered my services to assist individuals and businesses with writing their books, articles, reports, press releases, etc..  From memoirs to a simple two-page biography, if someone dared to come out of his or her shell while trusting me enough to write about him or her, I did it.  Well, that season is coming around again, where I say, "Here I am!  If you need assistance with your book, then let's get started!"  But I am only offering this service for a limited time only before I am back to preparing my publications.

Sometimes people are all talk, because they know I have written a book.  Others are no show and no go because they aren't about to share what they believe are their precious secrets.  Then there are still others that want to do business, but don't have the time or money, so they put their book writing project off.

These days I am willing to assist with the beginning of one's most desired book project for $99 down.  This means th…

Nicholl speaking on Being Content With What You Have

Click on YouTube video, to hear message.  Nicholl shares biblical wisdom and spiritual commentary with family and friends.  She has attended many churches over the years and is certified to teach Sunday School.  In recent years, Nicholl talks of God moving her to write books and speak his word.  Many years prior, leaders in the churches that she attended prophesied what she is doing now.  May God bless them for boldly speaking God's word into her life!

Free Time

Sometimes those free moments come in one's life when nothing much is going on.  It is then that I think about things--anything.  I begin to ponder about article topics, think about past events and how I could have/should have, and plan the next thing I'm going to do. Yet, other times I just feel a myriad of emotions sometimes those that move you to tear just a bit.  One in particular is that moment of elation, simply being thankful about what a Heavenly Creator has done so far with me--ever so grateful for life and not fearful when it all comes to an end.

When you have that moment, you know the one you aren't doing much of anything, take a deep breath.  It just might be just what the doctor ordered--a quiet time that might have saved your life just a little while longer!

Stay blessed.

What I Hope to Become?

I haven't arrived yet.  You know that place where you can kick your shoes off and prop your feet up.  I am so far from being at peace with my life.  I have so much more to do and I haven't begun to scratch the surface!

These days I am focusing on my external life--you know the one we all have when we aren't on the Internet.  I have been spending time networking, putting my skills in front of some people, and assisting others with their business ventures on a part-time basis.

What I hope to become is not a specific title, but a Spirit who can comfortably say, my Creator is pleased with me.  It doesn't matter what society deems successful, where I go, who I meet, or what I see, I just want to know that I  am doing alright--that I am truly living the way God intended!

No Good Thing Last Forever

No good thing last forever, so you might as well make the most of your good times.  Sit back and enjoy those smiles, take in those laughs, and appreciate the sun when it is out.  Take a moment to walk or sit down and take in your environment.  For we never know the day or hour when something so bad will shake up our world to the point that many will suffer and die.

Your heavenly Creator put you on this planet for good reason.  You may not know the plan for your life, but I assure you that there is one.  Experience a life beyond this one, go get the Holy Word of your Maker and start reading it the moment you have some free time.  The more you read, the more you will begin to feel and look different.

What on Earth Was I Thinking When I Started Journaling?

The teachers had instilled in us young children to write.  They wanted us to write sentences about things like:  personal interests, people, places, and things.  I was programmed from the time I could put a sentence together to journal.  Yet, something so innocent, can be used against you as you grow older.  Those optimistic teachers didn't warn us children about parents who would give you a hard time about the things you write about them or others (they think are them).  They didn't prepare us for the sacrifices we would make for writing or not writing from partners to networks.  They didn't tell us that there was such a thing as Writer's Block.  They didn't tell us that we could break the rules sometimes with generalizations, exaggerations, fiction, and poor grammar without excuse.  They surely didn't warn us about the myriad of mean-spirited emotions, strange voices, and weird muses that help to periodically give us our best work.

What on earth was I thinkin…

There's Nothing Easy about Being Me

You have those who congratulate you on a job well done.  Others will say nothing while wishing you fall flat on your face.  From disrespectful comments to eye-rolls, some of my writings and topics I speak about offend.  Truth doesn't win me life-long friends--never did, never will.  I think of the Bible, when Jesus said, "They will hate you because of me..."  He was so right!

"Keep your mouth closed...don't say anything...just smile..." I grew up around people who never wanted anything said about anything truthfully speaking.  If you got a little courage about yourself and let loose with your tongue, there was always the threat of violence looming.  If you didn't want to reap the consequences, you just might turn and walk away, but not before experiencing "payback."  In my 'hood, payback was nothing more than revenge.  Sooner or later someone was going to pay you back for speaking truth.   Protest your parents' unfairness, payback.  Sp…

Love Poetry by Nicholl - Happy Valentines Day!

For years now, I have shared my love poetry at Love Poetry by Nicholl.  I used that blog site as a way to free myself of good as well as bad memories of love in an effort to move on with life.  I must admit that it works!  You can receive peace of mind when you share personal feelings.  Although you might find it awkward at first, with enough writing, you won't agonize over past regrets or dwell on the "what ifs" of lost love.

I enjoy writing poetry.  I sometimes hear melodies in my head before I write.  There is something special about writing poems.  Take a walk with me at Love Poetry by Nicholl and appreciate what you got while you still got it!

Stay blessed.

Kill Boredom

When I get weary of visiting the same websites and doing the same things online, I always go back to my projects.  Times of boredom actually inspire me to do what I like the most which is writing.

Years ago, I created a site for people, like myself, who sometimes find certain activities on the Internet redundant and quite boring.  I listed various tips on dealing with boredom from boring people to being bored while unemployed and what to do about it.  When you have a moment, please do visit: Bored Looking for Things to Do.  Feel free to comment on some of the material there.  I hope the thoughts/ideas will kill your boredom!

Thanks in advance for your support.

My Thoughts on Love this Valentine's Day

I thought of my book, "Laboring to Love Myself" and how appropriate to call attention to it to those who are starved of love this Valentine's Day.  Why does one feel so overwhelmed with just living?

For I have learned, that one is void of love.  No love coming and no love going.  Repeated rejection over one's years produces no love for self or others.  "What do I care?  I care about no one?  No one cares about me..." says the loveless.

No action produces no reaction.  If I show no love to others it isn't any wonder that I have not love.  If my love is not received, then it is my responsibility to find someone or group who will sincerely love me.  I hope that this Valentines Day you will reflect on what it truly means to love beyond a simple token of appreciation.

Trials are Breeding Grounds for Elevating One's Self Spiritually

Before you pity someone who appears to be going through much trial, consider thinking about what you can learn through someone else's storm.

When one is under pressure, sometimes the mind is clouded with much confusion and chaos, but other times ideas come--many ideas that seem promising especially when money is an issue.

I have learned that blessings are readily available to us when we are willing to give of ourselves without expecting reimbursement.  What might one give to a business, a school, an organization, church, and other places that might increase traffic, revenue, better programs, and more without dropping a single dollar in the lap of yet another someone who just might be looking for a little more than that?  An idea that not only helps what is on the surface, but renews what is deep within.

With many trials over my years, I have recognized that although mind and body were at times weakened, spirituality stayed strong.  It propelled me to think higher, to take the dist…

3 Places on the Web for Videos/Audio I Like...Howcast, YouTube, Blog Talk Radio

When talking with people about a wide variety of subjects, I find myself referring them to the following websites including my own blogs and videos.  You might find these useful depending on your needs.

1.  Howcast - great place to learn how to do things visually.  Very professional videos and easy to understand.  Each video tells you what you need in advance.

2.  YouTube - in addition to silly entertainment, they have good audiobooks and documentaries that the public has uploaded including my very own life experience channel:  nmenterprise7

3.  Blog Talk Radio - insightful podcasts, music programs.  Here are a couple by friends of mine, one about marriage and the other with gospel music and interviews.
